Tesco Great School Run with Colin Jackson

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Olympic medallist Colin Jackson – and, oh yes, he’s in a helicopter. Starting on 8 May, Colin will be dropping into major Tesco Great School Run events in Belfast, Newcastle, Birmingham and Greenwich to inspire the children taking part in the event. Over 5,000 schools have signed up so far, and Tesco expects over 1·3 million children to take part between May and June. Go online to find out whether your local school is involved.

Tesco and diego dalla palma team up for Race for Life

Tesco and beauty brand diego dalla palma have collaborated with Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life to help raise money towards their life-saving research. 

From 12 June to 31 July, £1 from each sale of diego dalla palma’s bold and beautiful pink nail polishes will be donated to the cancer charity.

Watch the Real Food Family Cook Off on Channel 5

Watch Britain’s best home cooks battle it out to win the Real Food Family Cook Off, tonight at 7.30pm on Channel 5. Over the past few months many of you have shared your favourite recipes at www.tescorealfoodchallenge.com, offering real food ideas created for real situations.

Now, the shortlist has been drawn up, and the final eight contestants will be fastening their aprons and sharpening their knives, ready to go head to head during six exciting episodes. Presenters Lisa Faulkner and Matt Dawson, winners of BBC One’s Celebrity MasterChef, will be on hand to guide the contestants through the challenges.

Recycle unwanted electrical goods with Tesco

Do you have an unwanted computer or an old camera sitting unloved and unused? You’re not alone. More than a third of people hold onto old electrical products partly because they don’t know how to dispose of them* – throwing electrical items away with the household rubbish could harm the environment if they end up in landfill. At selected Tesco stores, you can now hand over unwanted goods and not only will they be recycled responsibly, but in return you could receive cash on a Tesco Giftcard or extra Clubcard points**.
