Tesco Mum of the Year winners meet the Prime Minister

The Tesco Mum of the Year winners met Prime Minister David Cameron at Downing Street yesterday morning.

 
 
The Prime Minister talked to the mums about thir achievements. Afterwards Mr Cameron told Tesco magazine: 'The winning mums are amazing. When you think that they've done all these things and brought children up at the same time, they're amazing stories.'
 
Debbie Chernin, Publishing manager of Tesco said: 'The Mums of the Year have all achieved something extraordinary, and we're delighted that the Prime Minister took time out of his hectic schedule to recognise them.'

Celebs turn out in force to honour Tesco Mums of the Year 2012

Celebrities including Amy Childs, Pixie Lott and Jamelia turned out in force yesterday to celebrate the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards 2012 at the Waldorf Hilton in London.

Famous faces from the worlds of TV, radio and music began arriving on the red carpet at 1pm, before heading inside to mingle with the award-winning mums and other guests. Many celebrities had brought their mums with them, including Sugababe and Dancing on Ice contestant Heidi Range, Sinitta, Blue singer Lee Ryan, and Tesco Mum of the Year Ambassador Sara Cox.

Also at the event were Liz McClarnon and Michelle Heaton, Arlene Phillips OBE, Cherry Healey, Nicola McLean, EastEnders star John Partridge and Coronation Street actress Tupele Dorgu.

Guests were treated to live performances from XFactor contestant Mary Byrne, Grammy-award winner Estelle, and Amy Winehouse's goddaughter Dionne Bromfield, who brought the audience to their feet with a cover version of Cee-Lo Green’s ‘Forget You’.

Speaking from the red carpet, Celebrity Mum of the Year Gabby Logan said: 'I feel really humbled and really really proud. It’s great to be in the company of all the other amazing mums who are being honoured today.'

Olympic gold medallist Denise Lewis OBE, who was part of the award judging panel said: 'I’m really excited to see all the mums congregated in one room today.'

Dionne Bromfield to sing at Tesco Mum of the Year awards

Soul singer-songwriter sensation Dionne Bromfield is to perform at the Tesco Mum of the Year awards on Sunday.

16-year-old Dionne was the first artist to be signed to her godmother Amy Winehouse's Lioness Records label. Her hit singles include Yeah Right, Foolin' and Ain't No Mountain High Enough and she already has two albums to her name.

Grammy award-winning artist Estelle is to perform at the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards this Sunday.

Estelle, who had phenomenal success with the single American Boy kanYe West, will be performing tracks from her new album All of Me, released in the UK on monday.

Stars from the world of entertainment and music will be out in force at this year's Tesco Mum of the Year awards on Sunday.

Sugababe and Dancing on Ice star Heidi Range, singer Jamelia and TOWIE star Amy Childs will be among the celebrities on the red carpet.

They'll be joined by celebs including Arlene Phillips OBE, Denise Lewis OBE, Michelle Heaton, Liz McClarnon, Cherry Healey, Nicola McLean and Tesco Mum of the Year ambassador and Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox to honour the winning mums at the event, hosted by Fiona Phillips.

Denise Lewis OBE to present an award

Fresh from rowing the Channel for Sport Relief alongside John Bishop, Davina McCall and Freddie Flintoff, Olympic gold medallist Denise Lewis, OBE will be one of the presenters at this year's Tesco Mum of the Year awards.

Denise, who was one of the judges for this year's awards and is also an official ambassador for London 2012, will be joining the celebrities on the red carpet and at the ceremony honouring the winning mums of the year.

Sara Cox appears on Loose Women talking about Tesco Mum of the Year 2012

Tesco Mum of the Year 2012 ambassador Sara Cox was a big hit on ITV1's Loose Women on Wednesday.

Sara spoke about her involvement with the awards, and also one of this year's winners, single mum of three Julie Jones, who gave a home to her best friend's six children when they were orphaned.
