Autism’s Got Talent

Anna Kennedy, our Achieving Mum of the Year 2013, is organising an evening of entertainment from people on the autism spectrum to showcase talent.

Autism’s Got Talent will be held on Saturday 11 May at The Mermaid Theatre, London, and promises to inspire with acts from children and adults from around the UK. ‘Most performers have been bullied and turned to performing arts to help them get over their ordeal,’ explains Anna. ‘The show is a great way to show people how talented those with autism can be.’

The event will be supported by Pineapple Performing Arts School and author Kathy Lette, who has an autistic son, will be presenting some of the acts along with other celebrities yet to be announced. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. Tickets are on sale now, so don’t miss out!

Celebrate mums on Mother's Day

Be inspired by amazing mums on Mother's Day! The Tesco Mum of the Year Awards will be shown exclusively on Channel 5 this weekend. Our winners are unsung heroes who have been nominated by family, friends and colleagues from around the UK. Our Celebrity Mum of the Year is Spice Girl Melanie C, who does outstanding work for Diabetes UK and the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

The award ceremony takes place at London's iconic hotel, The Savoy, and is hosted by Fiona Phillips with an audience of famous faces, including our ambassador Denise van Outen. There's also live entertainment from global music stars Il Divo and the UK's hottest vocal harmony group The Overtones.

Exciting news – for the first time the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards are partnering with Channel 5 to televise the glittering annual ceremony. 

Channel 5 recorded the ceremony live from London’s iconic hotel The Savoy on 3 March, and is to air the event on Mother’s Day, Sunday 10 March.

The Tesco Mum of the Year Awards 2013, which was hosted by Fiona Phillips, celebrates this year’s incredible winning mums, and guests include stars from stage, screen and sport.

Commissioning Editor Greg Barnett says: “I am delighted to be bringing such an inspiring and emotionally-charged event to Channel 5. On a day when we celebrate mums, Channel 5 and Tesco will be championing some of Britain’s best.”

The lovely people at Hyundai are so excited about the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards this weekend, they’re providing a set of shiny new cars for the glistening event.

The Overtones to perform at the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards 2013

Exciting news ladies! We can exclusively reveal that the UK’s hottest vocal harmony group The Overtones are to perform at the eighth Tesco Mum of the Year Awards 2013.

The boys will be walking the red carpet for fans before serenading guests at the glittering awards ceremony, which is being held at The Savoy in the heart of London.

The five-piece band’s career highlights include two best-selling albums, and they’re currently embarking on a European tour.
